While speaking as the chief guest at the reception, Engineer Md. Abdus Sabur said, 'This reception by IEB will motivate the students and will be a way to move forward. The students of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. Our students must have a passion for discovery, make the impossible possible, identify problems and solve them. I believe these students of the engineering family will play a role in building a modern technology-based, developed Bangladesh.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Dr. AMS Arefin Siddique said, the main purpose of education is to become a good person, to achieve humanity. A great degree alone does not make a good person. Ordinary people are not engaged in corruption; people with higher degrees are involved in corruption. No good man or humane man or who are truly educated cannot be engaged in corruption.
He also said, 'Bangabandhu canceled clerical education in this country and gave importance to engineering education, vocational education and technical education. Radical changes in the field of education started at his hands. Bangabandhu took all kinds of initiatives to educate the people of the newly independent, war-torn country. Today's students are the country's greatest asset. We have to use this wealth to build the golden Bangladesh of Bangabandhu's dream.'
